ABOUT
I work out of Shepherd Studio in the South End and focus on relief printing.
I was first introduced to printmaking at Mount Holyoke College, where I graduated with a BA in studio art. I was immediately drawn to the cathartic nature of carving, the multiple and very technical processes available and the ability to re-use and re-invent an image.
My most recent work is a reaction to and reflection upon my experience of developing facial paralysis from a facial nerve tumor. I explore the grief that I feel over the loss of my previous smile and the determination I have to be at peace with the change in my appearance. You can also see the delight and beauty I have been able to find in an otherwise challenging and difficult experience.
I have been a member of the Boston Printmakers since 2015, and joined their executive board in 2016. I currently live in South Boston with my husband and two cats. When I’m not in the printmaking studio, I’m busy with my full time career selling residential real estate in Boston.
